Our procedures concerning dangerous goods are based on the following references:

  • ISM Code
  • IMDG Code
  • International Maritime Organisation

No dangerous goods can be loaded on vessels without prior acceptance of Dangerous Cargo Office
who will issue acceptance number. Acceptance of hazardous cargos does not relieve shipper and
booking agent of their obligations and agent will be held fully responsible for any consequences
arising out of their negligence, or negligence of any person working for them directly or indirectly.

Inclusions of Hazardous Cargo Request

  • Consecutive hazardous request number
  • Vessel name
  • Voyage number
  • Port of loading
  • Port of discharge
  • Final destination
  • Port of transshipment (if POD is different from FD) 
  • Routing (if POD different from FD and Port of origin is different from POL)
  • Type and size of container
  • Number and kind of outer packing
  • Kind and number (or capacity ) of inner packing (information compulsory only if declared in
    limited quantity and some particular cases )
  • Is outer packing UN approved (or equivalent ) yes / no
  • Un number
  • Class / additional labels
  • Correct shipping name for hazardous substance ((Including chemical Hazardous
    Content name giving rise to hazard for NOS) Correct shipping name for hazardous substance )
  • Gross / net weight (Kgs)
  • Flash Point (minimum in Celsius)  
  • No  marine pollutant yes / no
  • EMS & MFAG (if not given by IMDG Code, shipper to provide recommendation) 
  • Additional detail (exemption/special permit/certificates control/weathering certificate, etc.)
  • Solid / liquid / gas
  • EMCT (Emergency Call Telephone Number) (for US regulated port)
  • Container number (if possible at this ship)
